Gueret - Les Monts de Gueret - Boussac
  • Guéret: don’t miss the 12th-15th century Limousin enamels in the Musée de la Sénatorerie, including the Malval reliquary. Seven other reliquaries in champlevé enamel are just as exceptional, including that of St. Thomas à Becket.
    • Market days: Thursdays and Saturdays on the Place Bonnyaud.
  • La forêt de Chabrières: numerous footpaths through the forest. Courtille Lake covers 12 hectares and has supervised bathing, pedalos and fishing, etc.
    • A giant maze of winding turf paths covers 2 hectares.
    • The "Loups de Chabrières" wildlife park – a museum area gives a history of popular beliefs about wolves and there is a trail around the site which provides a progressive approach to watching the wolves as a naturalist, leading from the most organised to the wildest areas.
  • Boussac: 12th-15th century inhabited chateau, magnificently furnished. In summer, there is an exhibition of contemporary tapestries. Period woodwork.
    • Market day: Thursday.
  • "Les Pierres Jaumâtres": 40 rocks scattered on the top of Mont Barlot (595 m). According to the legend, this pile of granite is the work of "Mâtres", who were Gallo-Roman goddesses.
